Swale Borough Council is seeking an organised, proactive PA to Directors to provide high quality executive support to senior leaders. This is a varied role where you’ll coordinate diaries, prepare meetings, take accurate minutes, manage communications, and help ensure smooth delivery of corporate priorities.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide professional, confidential PA support to Directors and Heads of Service.
  • Manage complex and fast moving executive diaries, coordinating meetings and events, prepare high quality meeting papers, actively track, chase and record actions.
  • Communicate confidently and effectively at all levels, across Directors, Members, senior officers, staff, partner organisations and members of the public.
  • Lead on high‑level enquiries, complaints and sensitive correspondence on behalf of Directors and Heads of Service.
  • Manage politically sensitive and confidential information with a high degree of discretion.
  • Provide administrative support to the Monitoring Officer on corporate governance requirements, including maintaining statutory registers and Member conduct complaints.

This is a full time position working 34 hours per week, Monday to Friday, on a permanent contract. The role is hybrid, requiring attendance at Swale House at least twice a week, with additional on site working as operational needs require, alongside homeworking.

About You

  • Experienced PA or executive support professional, ideally within local government.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills.
  • Confident minute taker with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in MS Office/Teams and comfortable working independently.
  • Discreet, proactive and able to manage competing priorities.
