The predicted salary is between 18000 - 42000 £ per year.
To play a central role creating effective transport plans for our customers whilst complying with legal responsibilities., · Operating vehicles ensuring optimisation of revenue whilst taking into account customer requirements and legal restrictions on driver hours and other relevant legislation.
· Maintain traffic management system (TMS) to ensure all details entered are accurate and completed in full.
· Accurate input of customer delivery requests.
· Maintaining good working relationships with customers and keeping a consistent flow of communication.
· Accurate recording of delivery failures/rejections and rebooks, ensuring all appropriate additional revenues are captured and reported to relevant persons.
· Production of accurate reports and KPIs.
· Following compliance processes relating to vehicle and trailer maintenance, RTA and accident reporting including relevant follow up.
· Progress chasing client deliveries and adjusting plans to take into account changing situations, traffic delays and unforeseen circumstances.
· Work with internal and external customers, departments and other depots to plan routes, schedule delivery times to ensure the smooth running of the operation, and ensure vehicles are utilized in the most efficient manner. Plan ahead as required.
· Prioritise workload, plan drivers’ workloads, and ensure driver brief and debriefs are carried out without exception by yourself or delegated to nominated individuals.
· Develop strong organisational skills to compile a robust traffic plan.
· Proactively work to reduce late deliveries and missed time slots.
· Ability to work flexibly and to make decisions quickly.
· Excellent communication skills, dealing with personnel at all levels. Flag up issues to line management in good time, suggest solutions to issues/problems.
· Possess an awareness of transport regulations, take responsibility to adhere to Operation compliance levels, with regards driver tachograph and vehicle servicing requirements.
· Promote and encourage health and safety adherence, and mindful of environmental impact.
· Source agency drivers in adherence to company policy, ensure agency drivers are fully inducted before engaging on to work.
· Provide support to colleagues and management as appropriate.
· Creation of management information and reports.
· To ensure that ALL Swain assets are fully in service and MOT before being released for collections/deliveries.
Essential:
· Ability to plan and amend delivery schedules
· Previous experience in the transport industry
· IT literate and proficient in MS office suite,
· Previous experience working in a fast-paced transport environment
· Strong communicator
· Ability to adapt in a changing environment
· Customer focused
· Willingness to take on additional responsibilities where required to assist the transport team and ensure effective running of the operation
