Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) is looking for a Capacity Planning Analyst who will support Network Capacity Management in capacity planning functions in the EU Middle Mile transportation network. The team provides our network with cost-optimal and flexible capacity solutions for operations and ensures to scale for seasonal peak demand increases.
In this role, you will drive customer experience by directly influencing development, planning and execution of production planning cycles to ensure robust and cost optimal labor plans. You are constantly monitoring, evaluating and challenging planning inputs and provide data-driven insights to improve our performance in a growing business.
Although the role will be ideally based in London, other Amazon locations throughout EU will be considered.
Key job responsibilities- Building short- and medium-term operational capacity plans to optimize cost and service associated with staffing
- Analyzing planning gaps/deviations and translate them into actionable items to improve future plans
- Interacting with business teams (e.g. finance, forecasting) to validate and challenge inputs variables using a data-driven approach
- Focusing on controllership, driving continuous improvement and standardization of processes, including implementation of planning best practices and automation initiatives.
- Communicating complex analysis, insights and results to senior leadership to influence and support tactical and strategic business decisions
- Working with a variety of data sources, being able to identify incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying root causes, escalating discrepancies, partnering on the resolution and executing fixes
- Analyzing and solving business problems related to data deviations through identifying root causes, driving corrective-actions and implementing processes and mechanism to insist on highest standards
- Participating in global operational and production planning initiatives and projects to identify and adjust to growing business needs
Every day, you’ll focus on our business objectives – from improving efficiency to increasing reliability – and find creative ways to make these happen. You’ll be part of a team driving major projects to standardise our processes and make improvements to our operations. That will involve being in regular contact with senior management and a wider group of stakeholders to define the project requirements and update them on status, risks, and impacts. You’ll also create communication plans to bring everyone up to speed with the new processes you implement.
As a Capacity Planning Manager, you’ll be the expert in charge of spotting the problems, seeing the gaps and inefficiencies, and creating solutions. Deep diving into data will help you find those challenges and keep track of the effectiveness of your improvements.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- A degree in business, supply chain, transportation, economics or a technical field
- Relevant experience working in a supply chain, transportation, project management or management consulting role
- Relevant experience working with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional environment
- Relevant experience of communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including your peers and leadership
- Relevant experience in process improvement
- Operational background
- Understanding of SQL
- Experience with data visualisation tools such as Tableau, Power BI or QuickSight
