We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Children's Home Manager to be the heart of our 4-bed home in Bracknell. In this role, you will lead a dedicated team to create and maintain a safe, stable and nurturing environment where young people can grow and reach their full potential. This role combines strong leadership with a genuine commitment to child-centred, trauma-informed care.
At SWAAY, we don't just provide residential care; we create homes where children feel safe, valued and understood. For over 30 years, we have delivered specialist residential care, education and therapy for young males aged 11-18 who have experienced significant trauma and displayed harmful sexual behaviour. Our work focuses on reducing risk, addressing complex needs and empowering young people to move forward into safe, responsible and fulfilling adult lives.
As a Children's Home Manager you will:
- Lead the day-to-day running of the home, including staffing, rotas, budgets and resources
- Create and maintain a safe, stable and therapeutic environment for young people
- Promote a culture of openness, communication and equality
- Oversee the development, implementation and review of care plans and risk assessments
- Lead, coach and develop the staff team through supervision, mentoring and performance management
- Ensure the home consistently meets Ofsted regulations and quality standards
- Ensure high standards of care, safeguarding and compliance
To be a successful Children's Home Manager at SWAAY, you will:
- Be a strong leader with a genuine passion for improving outcomes for vulnerable young people
- Have a Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare and Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management
- Experience in a managerial role within children's residential care
- Strong knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and Working Together to Safeguard Children
- Experience supporting young people with emotional, behavioural or attachment difficulties
