We are looking for Non-Executive Directors to join our Board of Trustees. Would you like to help us with our strategic aims? Are you open to taking that next step in your career? Do you want to contribute to making a positive change in your community? Do you aspire to be a decision-maker?
Please note that this is a Voluntary Unpaid Position.
Who we are?
We are a resident-led social housing charity responsible for the delivery of housing management and maintenance services for around 1,800 homes and several community buildings, in the Stockwell/Brixton area of London. We have ambitious plans for the future of our residents and the local community and would welcome you to be part of our future, too.
Our mission is "to work in partnership with local people to provide effective and sustainable housing services, enabling our community to flourish."
Our volunteer board and committee members oversee the strategic direction of the housing charity and have responsibility for the overall management of the organisation.
Would you be willing to:
- Commit to four to six evening meetings per year
- Represent SW9 Community Housing at external meetings
- Take personalised training programmes
- Attend one or two "Away Days" per year
Skills and Experience
The successful candidates should have the following characteristics, attributes and experience:
- The desire to create a positive change for our residents;
- Experience in leadership and management and the ability to ensure clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;
- Ability to support and also hold leaders to account for the performance of the charity, and the performance management of staff;
- Be willing to devote time, enthusiasm and effort to the duties and responsibilities of a Trustee.
You will be making a real difference to the lives of our residents, by ensuring that our governance, strategic direction, decision making, finances and focus are robustly and carefully managed, to provide excellent service. You will help create positive change for our people and commit to the Mission and Vision of the organisation. Be The Change!
