An experienced DevOps Engineer is required to support the delivery and operation of software solutions across both cloud-based and on-premise platforms. The role focuses on improving reliability, security, and automation across multiple technical initiatives. This is an on-site position based in either the London, Gloucester or Manchester area. Active eDV clearance is mandatory and must already be held.

Required Background

  • Proven experience working within modern delivery environments such as Agile, Scrum, or DevOps
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of public cloud platforms, including AWS or Azure
  • Practical experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
  • Track record of designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for complex systems
  • Experience with containerisation and orchestration technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, ECS, or AKS
  • Familiarity with build, automation, and integration tooling (e.g. Jenkins, Concourse CI, or comparable cloud services)
  • Ability to write scripts and manage code using version control systems

Key Duties

  • Design, deploy, and maintain tooling and environments that support software development and delivery
  • Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand delivery and operational requirements
  • Introduce automation to reduce manual effort and improve deployment reliability
  • Maintain secure platforms by applying best practices and addressing cyber security risks
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure and pipeline issues, delivering fixes and improvements
  • Work closely with engineering teams to ensure solutions are delivered consistently and align with agreed standards
