International Project Analyst

Location: London (hybrid) Type: Full time, permanent Department: Projects / PMO Reports to: International Project Portfolio Manager

About the business

Our client is a global foreign exchange and payments group operating across the UK, Europe, North America and Asia.

The business is FCA-authorised and provides FX and payment services to clients internationally.

This role sits within the group Projects function, supporting the delivery of change across all jurisdictions.

The role

The International Junior Project Analyst supports the delivery, tracking and reporting of portfolio projects and initiatives across the group's international jurisdictions.

You will provide coordination, analysis and administrative support to keep projects well organised, clearly documented and aligned to agreed priorities.

It is a strong entry point into project delivery within a regulated financial services environment.

You will build knowledge of the group's business units, project governance, regulatory considerations and internal systems while working closely with the International

Project Portfolio Manager, project sponsors and functional stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the maintenance of the international portfolio of projects and initiatives, keeping project information accurate, current and consistently documented.
  • Assist with portfolio planning, prioritisation packs and proposal tracking by collating inputs from project sponsors, business owners and jurisdiction leads.
  • Help maintain portfolio roadmaps, delivery plans and action trackers, escalating gaps, blockers or overdue updates to the relevant manager or project owner.
  • Coordinate project meetings, prepare agendas, capture actions and decisions, and follow up with owners to support timely delivery.
  • Help identify and track risks, dependencies, resource constraints and project milestones across programmes.
  • Support the use and continuous improvement of PMO standards, templates, governance processes and reporting routines.
  • Maintain project documentation, governance records and reporting data to support transparency and audit readiness.
  • Prepare draft portfolio status updates, dashboards and management information for review.
  • Act as a central coordination point for routine portfolio updates, making sure information is clear, timely and shared with the right stakeholders.
  • Support cross-jurisdictional collaboration by helping teams understand actions, ownership, deadlines and required inputs.
  • Assist with benefits tracking, post-implementation reviews and lessons learned.
  • Use knowledge gained from projects to support management in preparing OKRs and progress updates.
  • What we are looking for
  • Understanding of project administration, project plans, action logs and governance documents.
  • Ability to support project planning, milestone tracking, meeting coordination and progress reporting.
  • Ability to organise information clearly and maintain accurate records across multiple workstreams.
  • Experience of, or genuine interest in, project work within a regulated financial services environment.
  • Awareness of the regulatory environment in which an FX or payments firm operates.
  • Basic understanding of FX, payments or derivatives, or the willingness to build it.
  • Ability to gather inputs for business cases, benefits tracking and management information.
  • Comfortable conducting research across business, operational and regulatory subjects.

  • Systems
  • MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point) and Microsoft Teams.
  • HR systems (Workday).
  • Project management software and video conferencing tools.

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level or able to demonstrate equivalent relevant experience.
  • Previous project, business administration, operations or financial services experience is desirable but not essential.
  • A project management qualification (PRINCE2 Foundation, APM, PMP/CAPM or equivalent) is welcome.
  • Languages
  • A high standard of written and spoken English is essential.
  • Fluency in another European language (Spanish, Dutch, French and similar) is desirable.
