Company Description At S&W, we help our clients thrive by simplifying the complex, illuminating new paths, and shaping solutions that make a difference. As one of the UK’s top 10 fastest-growing accountancy firms, we have been a trusted partner since 1881—helping businesses and individuals meet challenges and seize opportunities across generations. Built on expertise and driven by ambition, we provide a comprehensive range of services, including tax and accountancy, advisory and assurance, corporate finance, and restructuring. We are defined by our purpose—to help navigate challenges, unlock potential, and achieve the extraordinary.

What will you be doing? We’re seeking a talented individual to join our Valuations and Modelling team, who will be responsible for preparing a wide range of valuations for accounting, tax, and commercial purposes (for non-contentious or contentious circumstances). In addition to business and share valuations, we also prepare valuations of intangible assets (often post-acquisition or for tax purposes) and complex securities (e.g. employee benefit share options and management share plans, warrants, etc.). This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and expanding team. We’re recruiting across London, Birmingham, Newcastle, and Cambridge, offering you the chance to contribute to high-impact work in a collaborative environment.

As Valuations Manager, some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Taking responsibility of the various valuation assignments and preparing autonomously the analysis, execution and reporting involved.
  • Proactively managing teams and understanding clients' expectations.
  • Assisting partners and directors with business development (i.e., proposals for new business).
  • Establishing the scope of work of projects, preparing associated budgets and communicating these to relevant parties.
  • Supervising the performance and workload of the team (i.e., direct report).
  • Internal and external networking to identify new opportunities.

Qualifications To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Significant experience of valuations gained within a leading advisory firm with international coverage and clients.
  • Advanced knowledge of valuation methodologies and modelling and first-class valuation technical skills.
  • History of providing these for different valuation purposes (e.g., accounting, tax and commercial purposes) and various contexts such as purchase price allocations, IP valuations, share options, derivatives and growth shares.
  • Up-to-date working knowledge of key valuation methodologies and best practice modelling.
  • Experience of managing a team of valuers.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent and completion or working towards a relevant professional qualification (e.g., CFA or Chartered Accountant ACA/CA/ACCA).

Additional Information As a colleague here at S&W you will have access to benefits that include:

  • Competitive salary
  • Private medical insurance
  • Life assurance
  • Pension contribution
  • Hybrid working model (role dependent)
  • Generous holiday package
  • Option to purchase additional holiday
  • Shared parental leave
  • Fully funded training towards professional qualifications
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Season ticket loan
  • Eye care support

At S&W we have a wide range of highly active employee resource groups and we’re delivering multiple diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives across the organisation. It is our commitment to provide a workplace where all colleagues, regardless of identity, background, or circumstance, feel respected as individuals and feel that they can achieve their full potential and work in a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment.
