Job Description

What will you be doing? As a Senior Manager you will take ownership of delivering tax services to your clients, develop your team and expand our services as clients’ needs evolve. Within this role you will be expected to apply your expertise across compliance and advisory services, and actively participate and contribute to our marketing initiatives. You will benefit from learning from established tax Partners and Directors and their broad tax sector experience across a range of disciplines, providing opportunities for professional development and progression.

Responsibilities

  • Management and oversight of a team of qualified and part‑qualified tax professionals, including all aspects of performance management
  • Develop and maintain long‑term relationships with key stakeholders including clients, potential clients and senior leaders across the S&W practice areas and office locations
  • Lead the delivery of a high‑quality and proactive service to a portfolio of client engagements in accordance with best practice procedures, internal controls and review processes
  • Monitor progress, manage risk and ensure key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes including variances to expected budget and timelines
  • Promote an innovative and inclusive team‑oriented environment including coaching and mentoring junior team members
  • Act as a technical expert with strong knowledge and application of tax principles and standards
  • Contribute to the growth and development of the Tax practice, including business development activities and the achievement of financial objectives such as new business targets, timely fee billing and cash collection
  • Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement in processes and procedures and participate in strategic and technology projects within the Tax practice

Qualifications Skills and Experience

  • Significant corporate tax experience gained within the profession and/or industry
  • Technically capable tax adviser familiar with current legislation and able to assist in highly detailed client work
  • Experience in mentoring people and clients
  • Ability to develop business development skills to assist with the growth of the business

Professional Qualifications and Education

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CA) and/or tax advisor (CTA)
