What you will be doing
We are seeking a talented Associate to join our Business Outsourcing Services team in Newcastle. You will work with clients and their finance teams or bookkeepers, helping them with their year‑end accounts, management accounts, bookkeeping, VAT returns and cloud accounting software support. You will also have exposure to Associate Directors and Directors, gaining invaluable experience with senior staff. Progression is fast, with responsibility from an early stage and opportunities for ad‑hoc assignments such as software implementation projects, “health‑checks”, and secondments.
Responsibilities
- Work as part of a team to provide statutory accounts, bookkeeping, management accounts, VAT returns, software implementation and system “health‑checks” for clients.
- Develop an understanding of our clients and their businesses.
- Keep your manager informed of any issues, ensuring work is completed to agreed standards and recorded clearly.
- Become familiar with our internal accounting software and other cloud accounting technologies.
- Provide advice and solutions to clients in response to accounting queries.
- Use automation to improve efficiencies for clients’ finance functions.
- Prioritise tasks for your own portfolio of clients, monitoring time against budget.
Qualifications & Experience
- Demonstrable experience working as a professional practitioner.
- Experience with statutory accounts preparation, VAT returns, and management accounts.
- Commitment to completing the Association of Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA) qualification (or ACA where study has begun).
