SW Locums is recruiting on behalf of Barnet Council for an experienced Team Manager to lead its Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH). This is an excellent opportunity for a strong and inspirational leader to join a high-performing safeguarding service at the forefront of protecting children and supporting families.
This role requires a manager with proven experience of leading a MASH service, someone who can confidently oversee screening, decision‑making, partnership working, and the delivery of high‑quality safeguarding practice in a fast‑paced environment.
The Opportunity
As Team Manager, you will provide leadership, direction, and professional oversight to a dedicated team of practitioners, ensuring that children and young people receive timely and effective safeguarding interventions. You will play a key role in driving performance, maintaining practice standards, and strengthening relationships across partner agencies to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and families.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a busy Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub service
- Provide effective supervision, support, and professional guidance to staff
- Oversee screening, information gathering, and safeguarding decision-making
- Drive service performance and promote high‑quality practice standards
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with key safeguarding agencies
- Monitor quality assurance, compliance, and service improvement activity
- Ensure statutory responsibilities are met and risks are appropriately managed
- Promote a culture of learning, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Support the delivery of safe, efficient, and effective services while maintaining high standards of operational practice
What We're Looking For
- Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration
- Significant management experience within Children’s Services
- Proven track record of successfully managing a MASH Team
- Excellent safeguarding, child protection, and risk management knowledge
- Strong leadership, performance management, and decision‑making skills
- Ability to lead confidently within a multi‑agency environment
