SW Locums is seeking an experienced Adult Social Worker to join the Adult Services team at the London Borough of Haringey on a full-time locum basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a progressive Local Authority that is committed to delivering high-quality, strengths-based social work and achieving positive outcomes for local residents. Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of adults using a strengths-based approach to promote independence, resilience and improved wellbeing.
- Complete comprehensive strengths-based assessments, reviews and support plans tailored to individual needs.
- Provide practical advice and guidance to residents and carers, including access to assistive technology, equipment, adaptations, welfare benefits, community resources, volunteering and employment opportunities.
- Arrange and coordinate short-term care packages and respite services to support individuals and help prevent carer breakdown.
- Work closely with residents, families and carers to ensure they are fully involved in decision-making and support planning.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals, the Integrated Care Board (ICB), housing services and partner agencies to deliver coordinated support.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic case records and prepare reports and documentation for funding panels and service requirements.
- Ensure individuals' views and wishes remain central throughout assessments, reviews and multidisciplinary meetings.
- Contribute to safeguarding enquiries, risk assessments and protection planning, ensuring safeguarding remains person-centred.
- Apply the National Framework for Continuing Healthcare to support appropriate care pathways.
- Participate in project work, group sessions and other statutory duties as required.
- Maintain professional standards, comply with council policies and undertake relevant training to support continued development.
Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
- A minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience in Adult Social Care.
- Previous Local Authority/Council experience is essential.
- Experience completing Care Act assessments, reviews, safeguarding enquiries and support planning.
- Excellent communication, assessment and partnership working skills.
