We are currently seeking experienced Social Workers to join the Children’s Front Door Team at Devon County Council based in Exeter. This is an excellent full-time locum opportunity for candidates with a minimum of 3 years post-qualifying experience (PQE) who are passionate about safeguarding children and supporting families across Devon.

About the Role

The Children’s Front Door acts as the central hub for all safeguarding and child protection enquiries across Devon. The service works closely with professionals from police, health, education, probation, and partner agencies to ensure children and young people receive the right support at the right time.

The successful candidate will:

  • Gather and assess information from multiple agencies
  • Identify safeguarding concerns and risks
  • Support timely interventions for children and families
  • Work collaboratively within a multi-agency environment
  • Help prevent harm and improve outcomes for children and young people

Role Details

  • Monday to Friday – 37 hours per week
  • Hybrid working model
  • Minimum of 3 office-based days per week (subject to service needs)
  • Office location: County Hall, Exeter, EX2 4QD
  • Valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle required
  • Minimum 3 years PQE essential
