Derbyshire County Council is seeking an experienced and dedicated Children’s Social Worker to join its Children’s Services team on a full-time locum basis. Key Responsibilities- Manage a caseload of children subject to Child in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After Children plans.
- Complete high-quality assessments, care plans, and interventions in line with statutory guidance and legislation.
- Build strong and effective relationships with children, families, and multi-agency partners.
- Contribute to court proceedings, including preparing statements and attending hearings where required.
- Work within a strengths-based and child-focused practice framework.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed case recordings and reports.
- Promote safeguarding and ensure the welfare of children remains central to all decision-making.
- Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
- Previous experience within Children’s Services.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and statutory frameworks.
- Ability to manage complex caseloads effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills.
