Derbyshire County Council is seeking an experienced and dedicated Children’s Social Worker to join its Children’s Services team on a full-time locum basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated practitioner who is passionate about safeguarding children and supporting families to achieve positive, long-term outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of children subject to Child in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After Children plans.

  • Contribute to court proceedings, including preparing statements and attending hearings where required.
  • Work within a strengths-based and child-focused practice framework.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed case recordings and reports.
  • Promote safeguarding and ensure the welfare of children remains central to all decision-making.
Requirements
  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
  • Previous experience within Children’s Services.
