Key Responsibilities
- Managing a caseload of complex, higher-need child protection cases.
- Taking the initiative to design and deliver effective support for children and their families.
- Cultivating positive, supportive, and respectful relationships with families to assist children in need of protection or help.
- Working to help families raise children safely within their own familial networks by actively enhancing their support systems.
- Developing and executing alternative long-term stability plans to ensure children are raised in safe, nurturing, and joyful environments when remaining at home is not possible.
- Providing mentorship, guidance, and support to fellow practitioners, including shadowing during home visits or professional meetings.
- Undertaking court-related work and representing the local authority as required.
- Utilizing a strong command of the English language to influence others, coordinate services, and ensure the utmost safety and care for children.
Requirements
- A minimum of three years of post-qualification experience as a children's social worker.
- A recognized qualification in Social Work (CQSW, DipSW, CSS, or degree).
- Active registration with Social Work England.
- Proven experience handling complex child protection cases and court processes.
- Familiarity with, or training in, the Signs of Safety practice model is highly desirable.
- Commitment to a hybrid working schedule, including three days per week in the office.
