About the Team
The Children with Disabilities Team is a stable and experienced service consisting of 10 Social Workers alongside a dedicated Short Breaks Team. The service works with children and young people with disabilities, ensuring they receive the support, protection, and services they require to thrive. Management vacancies within this team are extremely rare, making this an exceptional opportunity for an experienced practitioner or existing manager looking to take on a rewarding leadership role.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to a team of Social Workers and practitioners.
- Manage a service responsible for Children in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and court work.
- Ensure high standards of practice and compliance with statutory responsibilities.
- Support staff with complex case management and decision-making.
- Drive positive outcomes for children, young people, and their families.
- Promote effective partnership working with internal and external agencies.
- Contribute to service development and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain oversight of safeguarding practice and risk management across the team.
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
- Significant experience within Children's Services.
- Strong management or supervisory experience within a social work setting.
- Proven experience managing or overseeing CIN, Child Protection, and court proceedings.
- Extensive safeguarding experience is essential.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and organisational skills.
