Are you an experienced Children’s Social Care Team Manager looking for your next locum opportunity? We are recruiting a Team Manager – Intervention & Planning to join Barnet Council on a full-time locum basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced leader to support high-quality, child-centred services and make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and families.

  • Hours: 37 hours per week
  • Working Pattern: Monday to Friday

About the Role

As Team Manager, you will be responsible for the effective management of a Children’s Social Care team, ensuring services are delivered in line with statutory guidance, legislation, and best practice. You will provide strong leadership, professional oversight, and support to social workers while ensuring children’s needs, safety, and wellbeing remain at the centre of decision-making.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and supporting a team to deliver high-quality child-focused services.
  • Providing professional supervision, guidance, and case direction to social workers.
  • Overseeing case allocation, assessments, reviews, and case progression.
  • Ensuring risks are identified, managed, and appropriate support is provided to children and families.
  • Building effective partnerships with professionals including health, education, police, and independent agencies.
  • Supporting service improvement and contributing to wider operational and strategic priorities.
  • Managing complex cases creatively while promoting positive outcomes for children.
