SW Locums is delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Advanced Practitioner to join Walsall Council's highly respected Emergency Duty Team (EDT). This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and confident social work professional to make a real difference when it matters most, supporting vulnerable children, young people, and adults during out-of-hours emergencies. This role offers the chance to work in a fast-paced and rewarding environment where your professional judgement, safeguarding expertise, and ability to respond effectively in crisis situations will have a direct impact on people's lives.
Working Pattern: Initially, the role will involve shorter evening and weekend shifts (5:00pm - 12:00am), progressing to a combination of longer shifts, including overnight work, once fully established within the service.
About the Role: As an EDT Duty Worker, you will respond to urgent referrals received outside of normal office hours, working across both Children’s and Adults Services. You will be responsible for assessing risk, making critical decisions, and coordinating support for vulnerable individuals who require immediate intervention.
