What will you be doing? We’re seeking a talented qualified Accountant with relevant experience in an accountancy practice setting to provide clients with an efficient and effective service, through the control and efficient use of the department resources and by performing the work for clients within the portfolio. You will liaise with other departments to ensure close liaison on client affairs and assist in administration tasks to ensure a smooth running of the department. This is a permanent role to be based at either our Edinburgh, Stirling or Kirkcaldy office, with office attendance expected to be 4 days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing accounts for a range of companies from small up to medium and large sized companies under FRS 102 including groups and consolidations.
  • Support junior team members with the development of their technical skills.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients to deliver work to high standards and in timescales required by clients and other departments of the firm.
  • Establish relationships with key contacts at the client.
  • Ensure that clients receive an efficient and proactive service and expectations are exceeded.
  • Identify issues and agree resolution with client Partner or Director, ensuring they are up to date with the job’s progress.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience in practice with OMBs preparing accounts under FRS 102.
  • Considerable experience in a client-facing capacity.
  • Demonstrable accounts experience gained within a professional services firm.
  • Demonstrable ability to organise self and others, such that you can work on several different assignments at one time.
  • Ability to pro-actively monitor costs against budget for individual clients.

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, CA, ACCA) or equivalent.
