Job Description
We’re seeking a Manager to join our Corporate Tax Business in Scotland. This is a permanent role to be based at either our Edinburgh, Stirling or Kirkcaldy office. Managing your own portfolio of clients, working with Partners on delivery of corporate tax services. A significant part of the role will be to oversee the corporate tax compliance offering as well as providing training to the existing team and to create a specialist field of technical and/or sector knowledge and expertise.
As Manager your responsibilities will include among others:
- Client work
- Manage portfolio of compliance cases
- Undertake some consultancy work
- Give exceptional client service
- Identify opportunities on client portfolio
- Staff Management and development
- Liaison with Partners
- Appraisals/monitor staff performance
- Providing on the job training for junior staff on a one-to-one basis
- Practice Development
- Involved in business development activities/profile raising locally
- Able to take advantage of marketing/PR opportunities
- Compliance: Ensuring procedures are followed taking account of institute and HMRC guidance, where relevant
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should:
- Demonstrate significant corporate tax experience gained within the profession
- Be a technically capable tax adviser who is able to manage complex client work
- Demonstrate experience of managing people and clients
- Have existing business development skills and appetite to grow business
- Have project management experience
- Experience of dealing with senior stakeholders both internally and externally
- Be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) and/or tax advisor (CTA) or international equivalent
