We are seeking an experienced Audit Senior Manager to join our Audit team in our new Bristol office. Our Bristol Audit team has grown significantly in the last couple of years, and the vision is to continue this growth journey whilst maintaining the friendly, sociable, and open culture of the team who benefit from a good work-life balance as well as the opportunity to grow and develop your career further.
What will you be doing? Weβre seeking a talented individual to join our Audit and Assurance team in Bristol, which is responsible for managing the audit process for a portfolio of clients, including managing the relationship between the client and the engagement team. Your focus is on engagement management and supervising others to deliver excellent client service and a high-quality audit. You will also be a key part of our growth aspirations β building a network in the market and being involved in proposals and business development. If required, you will also assist with management of the team, department, and potentially the wider firm.
As an Audit Associate Director, your responsibilities will include:
- Client work: Ensuring that clients receive an efficient and proactive service and client expectations are met. Liaison with client Partners and other S&W staff where appropriate to ensure all are kept up to date with relevant issues. Client billing.
- Audit work and setting budgets: Awareness of commercial aspects of clients' business and impact on our work. Arrangement of timetable, booking of staff, planning review, and completion of audit and other related assignments.
- Staff Management: Organising staff on jobs, setting expectations and timescales, ensuring they are properly trained and receive constructive feedback. Ensure any shortages or excess workloads are identified and minimised. Liaison with junior staff to assess any issues and provide resolutions.
- Business Development: Including preparation of proposals, attending marketing events, presenting at seminars, attending client segment focus group meetings, developing personal contacts, and identifying opportunities with current clients.
Qualifications Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
- Significant external audit experience gained within a professional services environment.
- Experience of working with entrepreneurial, OMB, SME, and AIM listed clients.
- Business development experience including activities such as targeting, preparation of proposal documents, proposal presentations, and attendance of networking events.
- Demonstrable working knowledge of accounting and auditing standards, industry specifics, and their application.
- Strong communication skills in order to liaise with clients, Partners, staff, and other professionals.
- Previous experience of management and motivation of staff to ensure best performance.
- Ability to monitor costs against budget for individual clients.
Professional Qualifications and Education:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, CA, ACCA).
