Job Description
What will you be doing? We’re seeking a talented individual to join our Financial Planning team in the Reading/M4 Corridor – based out of our Bracknell office. Whilst there is a requirement to go into the office from time to time it would be ideal to be based in the Reading area.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and develop trusted relationships with current and potential clients.
- Deliver Financial Planning and Wealth Management advice.
- Work within the context of an agreed business plan.
- Ensure all advice given to clients is suitable, tailored and personalised and in line with advice and control policies.
- Be strategically aligned to the company's goals and objectives, act as ambassadors for the company at all times and have a clear understanding of the strategic place in the advice market.
- Contribute to the wider business through sharing of experience and knowledge via forums, training and development sessions.
- Look after and support client needs.
- Build new client relationships and maintain and develop existing client relationships through effective ongoing service to help minimise attrition, and to deliver new instructions and referrals as a result of satisfied clients.
- Structure and lead client meetings in a professional manner, ensuring all information and advice provided is up to date, technically accurate and meets clients' needs.
- Ensure clients have the right advice to achieve their financial objectives, while understanding and considering the impact of factors such as retirement planning, inheritance, and tax efficiency for individual clients.
- Ensure client reviews are undertaken at least annually in line with clients' changing risk attitudes and strategic requirements.
- Work in partnership with Investment Management (IM) and Professional Services (PS) colleagues to develop client relationships.
- Build and maintain COIs to initiate and nurture close relationships with professional advisers.
- Maintain the New Business Pipeline (NBP) and ensure all values and dates are up to date.
- Ensure comprehensive client records are kept and that these are accurate and up to date at all times and in line with Group policy.
- Motivate, coach and develop team members to enable them to achieve their responsibilities and accountabilities as documented in their job profiles and Business Plans, taking into account business specialisms and development areas.
- Team heads only: undertake supervision of direct reports, ensuring T&C regulations and Evelyn Partners suitability processes are adhered to and all documentation requirements completed and submitted.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Business acumen together with experience in developing and implementing business plans.
- Proven track record of successful business development.
- Proven ability to deal with new and existing clients on a fee basis.
- Ability to understand and communicate advice practices and processes clearly and effectively.
- Ability to analyse client information and highlight requirements to make suitable recommendations.
- Technical/product knowledge and effective communication of wide ranging holistic financial planning strategies & solutions.
- A strong ethic of client and customer service.
- Ability to work under pressure and to prioritise work.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Proven ability in mentoring, training and developing adviser colleagues.
- Extensive experience of operating within a risk management framework together with a thorough understanding of the risks and threats pertaining to a private client business.
Professional Qualifications and Education
Holds a relevant level 4 qualification or above (aspiring for Level 7) and maintains an up‑to‑date Statement of Professional Standing.
