King's College London is seeking vascular scientists in our brand newly refurbished department! Whether you are already experienced across the full range of vascular ultrasound examinations or are looking to broaden your scope of practice, we are committed to supporting your development. We provide training and mentorship to help you gain competency in examinations that are not currently within your scope, allowing you to develop your skills with confidence.
Please feel free to call to discuss or arrange an informal visit to the department. We are ideally looking for someone HCPC registered or CSVS accredited, but very much welcome applications from those about to qualify on the STP in vascular science. Your role will be based primarily at the Denmark Hill site but will require some cross site working.
We perform a complete set of vascular ultrasound investigations including:
- Transcranial imaging for the national paediatric sickle cell screening program
- Renal artery and transplant kidney
- Vascular access for dialysis fistula and mapping including for endo-AVF
- Specialist work for diabetic foot including pedal arterial and ultra-distal bypass graft surveillance
- Urgent scans for vasculitis such as GCA pathways
- All the usual scans such as peripheral arterial and venous and carotid.
Although the department is busy the support required can be individually tailored to your existing experience so full training can be provided in areas not already within your scope, we always aim to ensure there is sufficient senior support available while encouraging independent practice. Furthermore, there is a lot of scope for you to be actively involved in teaching and training as we have a range of trainees in the department.
