Stansted Veterinary Specialists is a new, independent, multi-disciplinary, small animal referral centre that opened in August 2025, located less than one mile from London Stansted Airport with excellent transport links to London and Cambridge. We are proudly independent, owned exclusively by the clinical team working within the hospital. This allows us to focus entirely on delivering outstanding patient care while maintaining a supportive, collaborative working environment for our staff. Our philosophy places pets and people at the heart of everything we do, fostering a culture where clinical excellence, teamwork, and wellbeing are equally valued.
The Role
We are seeking full-time or part-time Veterinary Radiologist(s) to join our growing team. You will work closely with a skilled imaging team currently consisting of one full-time veterinary radiologist and one full-time radiographer, with excellent support from our wider clinical and nursing teams. Our imaging department is equipped with the advanced technology expected of a modern specialist centre, including:
- Direct Digital Radiography
- Ultrasound: Philips EPIQ Elite and Mindray TE5
This equipment allows us to provide a comprehensive diagnostic imaging service across a diverse referral caseload. A full-time radiologist will work a 4-day week (working pattern negotiable) with a 1-in-4 contribution to the imaging on-call rota – with part-time roles calculated pro-rata. This is an exciting opportunity to help develop and shape the imaging service within a young and ambitious referral practice. The role offers a varied caseload including advanced cross-sectional imaging, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, and radiographic interpretation across multiple disciplines.
Key Aspects of the Role
- Providing advanced interpretation and written reporting in all imaging modalities
- Performing and supervising ultrasound examinations
- Assisting with study acquisition and advanced diagnostic procedures in CT, MRI and fluoroscopy
- Collaborating closely with other specialist disciplines to guide decision making in radiology and help steer overall case management
- Contributing to the continued development and optimisation of imaging protocols and best practices within the radiology department
- Training and teaching of other clinical staff – with potential for this to expand into supporting a residency programme in the future
We support flexible working arrangements. The role can be tailored to suit individual preferences, including the opportunity to combine on-site clinical work with teleradiology commitments or other professional roles, allowing for an excellent work–life balance.
Applicants Must
- Be a Diplomate of the ECVDI or ACVR (board‑eligible candidates considered).
- Be eligible to work in the United Kingdom (visa sponsorship may be available for relevant candidates).
- Be registered with RCVS or hold a veterinary degree that allows registration.
- Enjoy working within a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- Be motivated to contribute to the continued development of a growing independent referral centre.
We believe that happy clinicians provide the best care. We therefore aim to provide a supportive workplace where people can develop professionally while maintaining balance outside of work.
Benefits
- Pride in working within a clinician‑owned independent referral hospital
- A friendly, collaborative and supportive team culture
- The opportunity to shape and develop a growing radiology service
- Access to high‑end imaging equipment and a diverse referral caseload
- Flexible working patterns to support work–life balance
- The ability to combine the role with teleradiology or other professional commitments
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience
- Profit‑related annual bonus scheme
- Generous annual leave allowance
- RCVS and professional membership fees paid
