Reports to: Membership Services (North) Manager
Role
To support the recruitment, development and retention of adult Members, and to assist in the formation and growth of new Conferences for the St Vincent de Paul Society (SVP) within the Middlesbrough Central Council.
Key Responsibilities
- Membership Recruitment and Development
- Work closely with the assigned SVP Central Council to lead on member recruitment, strengthen and support existing Conferences, and facilitate the formation of new Conferences.
- Arrange and deliver church and community appeals to recruit new members and establish new Conferences.
- Develop and deliver recruitment appeals across a range of media and platforms, including video, audio, social media, local press and radio.
- Identify areas of strong recruitment activity and share best practice across the network.
- Provide Conferences with recruitment materials, guidance and practical support for local recruitment drives.
- Support, encourage and nurture newly formed Conferences during their early development.
- Training, Succession and Governance
- Promote the SVP Members Training Programme across the Central Council.
- Support succession planning, induction and officer training, working with local Central Council trainers as appropriate.
- Provide guidance and support with secretarial and financial returns.
- Support Conferences, Districts and Central Councils with compliance requirements and statutory returns.
- Liaise with local Central Council Safeguarding Officers regarding DBS processes and safeguarding concerns.
- Collaboration and Partnership Working
- Work with National Office teams to support the overall membership experience, including fundraising, communications, finance, safeguarding and youth programmes.
- Develop and maintain local partnerships with relevant agencies, including food banks, homelessness services, mental health and refugee support services, diversity groups and prisons.
- Promote and support the Acts 435 fundraising initiative among members.
- Monitoring, Reporting and Administration
- Measure and evaluate recruitment and development activity against agreed criteria.
- Provide monthly reports to the National Office.
- Attend regular and ad hoc meetings as required, including those organised by the National Office.
- General
- Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role as required.
