Working Days: Mondays & Thursdays, 9:00am–3:30pm (30‑minute unpaid lunch)

We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Activities Assistant & Centre Car Driver to join our centre on a permanent basis. This is a rewarding role supporting older people (50+) to enjoy meaningful activities, social connection, and a warm, welcoming environment.

About the Role

As part of our dedicated team, you will help develop and deliver activities that bring enjoyment, stimulation, and companionship to our community. You will also play a vital role in enabling attendance by driving the centre’s car to collect and return clients. Every day will be a chance to make a genuine difference to someone’s life.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist in planning and running engaging activity sessions
  • Support volunteers and help maintain a positive team environment
  • Transport clients safely to and from the centre in our centre car
  • Maintain accurate records, including attendance and safeguarding notes
  • Help with risk assessments and ensure safe running of all activities
  • Assist around the centre, including the coffee shop/kitchen when needed
  • Represent the centre at community events and promote activities
  • Welcome all visitors with kindness; people’s feelings matter most to us!

About You

We’re looking for someone who is friendly, proactive and committed to supporting older members of the community. You will have:

  • A full driving licence (essential)
  • Experience in a busy, people‑focused role
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • A positive, outgoing approach and ability to engage with diverse groups
  • Strong organisational skills and initiative
  • Empathy, respect and alignment with our values
