Join Svitzer at the heart of safe and efficient marine operations in Milford Haven. We’re looking for a skilled and safety-focused Marine Operator to support vessel operations, berth management, and emergency response, while working as part of a close-knit and professional team.
Working a 9 day cycle of 6 days on call followed by 3 days off.
What You’ll Do
- Safely moor and unmoor vessels, and operate mooring equipment within safe working limits.
- Connect/disconnect cargo transfer hoses or arms.
- Work as deckhand on T-Class Line Boat, Safety Boat and Barge.
- Carry out maintenance of mooring hooks, loading arms, and jetty safety equipment.
- Take ownership of berth checks, reporting hazards, near misses, and defects.
- Support operational requirements, including voluntary overtime where needed.
- Participate actively in toolbox talks, safety training, and emergency response drills (fire, oil spill, vessel disconnection).
What We’re Looking For
- Valid ENG1/ML5 medical.
- GCSE Maths & English (A–C) or equivalent.
- National Safety Passport (valid 3 years).
- Breathing Apparatus training (valid 1 year).
- Knowledge of jetty and marine terminal operations.
- Strong problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills.
