Join Svitzer, a leader in the maritime industry. We are seeking an Operations Planner to join our team in Middlesbrough.
Job Summary
The Operations Planner will provide high‑standard operational support to deliver efficient towage services. The role is based in our Middlesbrough office and covers all UK towage operations. The planner will work on a rota to ensure 24‑hour coverage (day and night shifts) and may be required to work occasional overtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage bookings and changes for towage operations coordinated through the Centre and ensure information is recorded and passed in a timely manner to the relevant employees.
- Maintain excellent relationships with clients and other organisational stakeholders.
- Accurately enter all necessary data and information into booking, scheduling and invoicing systems.
- Organise the scheduling and logistics of crew and tugs to ensure the most efficient use of assets.
- Work closely with the technical department to ensure tugs are available for scheduled maintenance.
- Prepare and maintain operational plans and identify potential commercial opportunities.
- Liaise with the crewing department to maintain operational availability and ensure compliance with working‑time legislation.
Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience of logistic planning (preferred).
- Ability to process and record information accurately (required).
- Ability to absorb information, prioritise activities and make appropriate decisions (required).
- Confidence in dealing with clients and external agencies (desirable).
- Proficiency in IT systems (required).
