The team work on a 1 week on/off rotation. Due to the nature of the operation all crew are required to live within a 30 minute commute of the Port of Southampton.**Your Responsibilities:**As a Marine Engineer at SVITZER, you will be the backbone of our vessel operations. This is a sole and hands-on engineering role where you will actively engage in the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of marine equipment and systems, using a range of engineering tools and diagnostic equipment to ensure vessel reliability and performance. Your key responsibilities will include:* **Operational Excellence:** Ensure all machinery on board is in top condition and operate it during vessel operations.* **Safety First:** Maintain the safe operation of vessels, engines, generators, and associated machinery.* **Meticulous Maintenance:** Keep all machinery (deck and engine) up to operational standards at all times.* **Ownership and Cleanliness:** Take pride in the vessel\βs machinery spaces, ensuring they are clean, tidy, and hazard-free.* **Proactive Reporting:** Communicate any breakdowns or faults to the Master and Superintendent Engineer, coordinating repairs efficiently.* **Routine Upkeep:** Perform routine maintenance and ensure the Planned Maintenance System is executed flawlessly.* **Resource Management:** Maintain adequate supplies of lube oils and bunkers for continuous operations.* **Health & Safety Compliance:** Conduct regular checks and address or report any issues promptly.* **Regulatory Adherence:** Follow all company, MCA, and external body guidelines, keeping paperwork accurate and up to date.* **Team Leadership:** Supervise and train engineering staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient team environment.* **Survey Coordination:** Assist in dry-docking and survey planning, ensuring timely and orderly completion of all work.* **Defect Management:** Advise the Master on defects, maintain a defect log, and prioritise repairs with the Superintendent.* **Inter-Departmental Collaboration:** Work closely with your team, embracing both deck and engine roles.* **Continuous Improvement:** Engage in mandatory and professional development training.* **Adaptability:** Take on additional duties as needed, demonstrating flexibility and responsiveness.**What We\βre Looking For:****Qualifications and Experience:*** Minimum STCW III/1 Engineer Officer of the Watch (EOOW) Small Vessel <9000>
