Are you a nurturing, adaptable educator who thrives in a setting where no two days are the same? We’re looking for a dedicated HLTA to support the learning and development of children with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) in our therapeutic residential care environment.

At SV Care Services Ltd, we provide safe, therapeutic residential homes for children who have experienced trauma, neglect, or adverse childhood experiences. Our on-site education provision will play a vital role in helping each young person re-engage with learning in a way that works for them. We will combine structure, patience, and creativity to build trust, encourage personal growth, and support every child to realise their potential – educationally, emotionally, and socially.

The Role: As our HLTA, you’ll support teaching and learning within a small, specialist setting – often working on a 1:1 or small group basis. You’ll work closely with the class teacher and wider care team to deliver engaging lessons, provide emotional support, and help each young person take steps forward, both academically and personally.

  • Support the planning and delivery of individualised lessons and activities
  • Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with complex emotional and behavioural needs
  • Help maintain a calm, positive, and therapeutic learning environment
  • Use creative and adaptive approaches to overcome learning barriers
  • Support behaviour regulation and emotional wellbeing throughout the school day
  • Contribute to assessment, progress tracking, and educational plans
  • Liaise with care staff, SENCOs, and external professionals as needed

About You:

  • HLTA qualification (or working towards it), or relevant experience in an SEN/EBD setting
  • Experience supporting children with SEMH, SEND, or in alternative provision
  • Calm, patient, and emotionally resilient
  • Skilled in building trusting, therapeutic relationships with vulnerable young people
  • Flexible, proactive, and passionate about helping children thrive
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

What We Offer:

  • Small class sizes and strong staff-to-student ratios
  • Supportive, trauma-informed team environment
  • CPD opportunities focused on SEND, therapeutic approaches, and alternative education
  • A real sense of purpose and the opportunity to make a life-changing impact
  • Competitive salary and benefits package
