SV Care are recruiting Bank Residential Support Workers to join our outstanding team in our Ofsted registered children’s residential provisions within Colchester. We’re looking to recruit passionate, dedicated individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of some of the most vulnerable young people in our society who’ve experienced neglect, abuse and trauma. As a result of these early life experiences, the young people that we will care for may, at times, display challenging behaviours. You will need to be resilient and dedicated enough to manage such behaviours while continuing to provide unconditional care, advice and support.
Starting rate of pay is £11.50/hour (depending on experience) plus sleep-in rate of £50/night. This role requires you to be able to work flexibly. Previous experience is preferred, but not essential, as extensive induction and training will be provided for all team members. A full clean UK driving license is also preferred. Requirements for DBS and reference checking will be undertaken and paid for by SV Care Services, in line with government regulation and safer recruitment best practices.

Duties include:
- Supporting young people to engage in education
- Ensuring young people’s health needs are met
- Providing advice, support and guidance
- Managing complex behaviours and crisis intervention
- Administering and recording medication
- Maintaining daily records and administrative work
- Contributing to the care planning process
- Liaising with external stakeholders and our own multi-disciplinary team
- Attending mandatory training
- Engaging in team meetings
- Maintaining the home (laundry, cleaning, shopping, cooking etc)
