HGV Class 1 Low Loader Driver Location: Essex, Suffolk & Hertfordshire Salary: £20.00 – £24.00 per hour, depending on experience Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 4:30pm Working Week: 42.5 hours, based on a 1-hour unpaid lunch Job Type: Full-time, Permanent We are recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 1 Low Loader Driver to transport construction plant, machinery, materials and heavy equipment to sites predominantly across Essex, with deliveries also covering Suffolk and Hertfordshire. This position requires an experienced plant haulage driver who is confident loading, securing, transporting and unloading heavy construction equipment safely and professionally. You will be driving an automatic Class 1 low loader vehicle, with loads varying depending on the equipment being transported. The Role * Transport construction plant, machinery, materials and equipment safely and efficiently * Carry out mainly local deliveries across Essex, Suffolk and Hertfordshire * Safely load, secure and unload heavy plant and machinery * Transport equipment including: Excavators up to 25 tonnes, Dump trucks, Tracked crushers and screeners, Shoring equipment, Other construction plant, tools and materials * Ensure all loads are correctly secured in accordance with legal and safety requirements * Operate within STGO requirements where applicable * Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly * Complete delivery notes and transport documentation accurately * Follow drivers' hours, Working Time Directive, tachograph and road transport regulations Essential Requirements * Full UK HGV Class 1 / Category C+E licence * Clean driving licence * CurrentDriver CPC * Valid and up-to-date Digital Tachograph Card * STGO experience is essential * Proven experience operating low loaders * Confident loading and unloading plant independently
