Electrical Fitter/ Control Panel Builder Full time, perm £30-35K negotiable depending on experience Job Overview Are you an electrician with panel wiring experience who is now looking for a workshop based role. If you are, we have great opportunity with an electrical company based in Braintree. This is a hands-on, workshop-based role ideal for someone who enjoys building quality panels and takes pride in neat, accurate work. Job Description As a Panel Wireperson, you’ll be responsible for assembling, wiring, and testing low-voltage electrical distribution panels, working from engineering drawings and specifications. You’ll be part of a supportive team working to high safety and quality standards. Key Duties * Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, GA drawings, and BOMs * Assembling and wiring LV distribution panels, control panels, and sub-assemblies * Cutting, stripping, crimping, labelling, and terminating cables * Installing trunking, cable looms, terminals, busbars, breakers, contactors, relays, meters, and sockets * Carrying out basic electrical testing (continuity, insulation resistance, and functional testing) * Identifying and reporting drawing errors, missing components, or build issues * Working to production schedules and deadlines * Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised workshop Requirements * Proven experience as a Panel Wireperson, Electrical Fitter, or LV Panel Builder * Experience working with low-voltage (400VAC) distribution panels * Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and schematics * Good attention to detail and a high standard of workmanship * NVQ Level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering * Knowledge of BS EN 61439, BS 7671, and switchgear up to 630A is desirable What’s in It for You? * Early finish every Friday * Permanent, workshop-based role in Braintree * Free on-site parking * Lunch contribution scheme * Free tea, coffee, and fruit
