Senior Contracts & Technical Support Manager Location: Near Bishop’s Stortford - mainly office based with client and site visits Salary: £65,000-£75,000 depending on experience Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Contracts & Technical Support Manager to join a growing building services maintenance business near Bishop’s Stortford. This is a key leadership role offering a salary range of £65,000 to £75,000 excellent benefits, and clear progression routes within the company. This position would suit someone with a strong background in commercial M&E building services, HVAC, plant rooms, energy centres, heat networks, cooling networks, technical support, contract management, and engineering leadership. As Senior Contract & Technical Support Manager, you will act as the technical lead within the business, supporting the delivery of engineering services across multiple contracts. You will lead and develop the Technical Support Team, provide expert guidance on complex technical issues, support contract performance, and help drive improvements across compliance, efficiency, sustainability, and service delivery. Skills and Experience Required Essential: * HNC/HND level qualification or equivalent experience. * Level 3 trade qualification in a relevant engineering discipline. * Strong experience within commercial M&E, HVAC, building services, plant rooms, energy centres, heat networks, or cooling networks. * Proven experience leading or mentoring engineering teams. * Experience managing maintenance contracts, technical support functions, or multi-disciplinary engineering teams. * Strong knowledge of PPM, reactive maintenance, BESA standards, and SFG20. * Experience scoping works, producing technical recommendations, estimating, or supporting quotations. * Strong commercial awareness and the ability to balance technical quality with contract performance. * Good IT skills and experience using digital systems, reports, or CAFM platforms. * Excellent communication skills with the ability to deal confidently with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and senior stakeholders. Desirable: * Multi-skilled trade qualifications. * Construction-related Health & Safety qualifications. * CIBSE Heat Network Code of Practice CP1 certification. * Experience with energy efficiency projects, smart buildings, IoT monitoring, or sustainability improvements.
