What will your role look like?

Reporting to the Curriculum Quality Lead, the LSI Champion will play a central role in fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment by supporting:

  • Positive and engaged student behaviour
  • Steady academic progress towards individual goals
  • Active student representation and student voice
  • Wraparound learning, enrichment, and reintegration

Key responsibilities include:

  • Behaviour Management
  • Implement and monitor effective behaviour management strategies
  • Maintain accurate behaviour logs and documentation
  • Deliver immediate and ad hoc interventions
  • Set, monitor, and review behaviour-related targets across 6–12 week placements
  • Student Support & Reintegration
    • Create student support and/or mainstream school reintegration plans
    • Develop individualised SMART targets and track progress
    • Lead restorative justice interventions to address disputes, bullying, and relationship breakdowns
  • Enrichment & Engagement
    • Coordinate enrichment sessions and implement the ENRICH curriculum
    • Liaise with external partners to deliver enrichment and work experience opportunities
    • Embed enrichment activities that support behavioural and academic progress
  • Student Voice
    • Manage and facilitate the student council
    • Promote meaningful student involvement in decision-making
    • Act as a link between students and academy leadership
  • Jack Petchey Programme
    • Coordinate awards, certificates, and nominations
    • Liaise with the Jack Petchey Foundation
    • Complete required reports and documentation
  • Inclusion, SEND & External Liaison
    • Conduct initial investigations into special and additional needs
    • Support assessments relating to ADHD, dyslexia, and cognitive difficulties
    • Contribute to EHCP development and reviews
    • Identify referral pathways and liaise with counsellors, mentors, and external agencies
  • Reporting & Continuous Improvement
    • Maintain and update learner profiles
    • Produce end-of-placement reports
    • Identify areas for improvement in behaviour and enrichment provision
    • Engage in ongoing professional development
