Our client is seeking a Head of Marketing with strategy, planning, and leadership experience, with demonstrable experience of building and executing a marketing strategy that positively impacts awareness and growth in both B2B and B2C environments. While the title is Head of Marketing, this is effectively a Marketing Director role and is a senior leadership position reporting to the Managing Director. The successful candidate will have strength in product marketing and will develop comprehensive marketing strategies that align with the company’s objectives and position the brands effectively in the UK and European markets.
As the marketing lead, you will oversee the full marketing mix across strategic planning, market research & analysis, brand marketing (including creative and campaign management), marketing communications, digital and media marketing and PR (direct and through external agencies). This role has breadth and is suited for a Head of Marketing or Marketing Director seeking a company on a positive growth trajectory, with an entrepreneurial mindset and a drive to build a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and own the business brand guidelines, ensuring consistency and continuity of message across all channels
- Develop strategies and processes to generate increased brand awareness as well as the delivery for all branded content: PoS material, merchandise, in-store promotional activity and products
- Take responsibility for the design, performance, and continuous improvement of all digital / web platforms/assets to establish an ever-increasing online presence
- Develop, implement, and manage online marketing strategies to promote products using various digital channels, to capitalise on e-commerce opportunities, driving conversions to achieve business goals
- Develop and deliver a social media marketing strategy across all major platforms: LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, etc.
- Plan and oversee the execution of all web, SEO, database marketing, email, social media, and display advertising campaigns
- Lead and direct B2B marketing activities across website, SEO, marketing assets, paid media and CRM
- Lead and direct B2C marketing activities including digital marketing activities, content & video, influencers and more
- Accountability for end-to-end new product launch marketing strategy, including the successful delivery of campaigns and activities across digital and traditional marketing
- Collaborate with the eCommerce and Product teams to ideate, define, and establish product marketing strategies behind new product launches and marketing initiatives across B2B and B2C channels
- Oversee and take responsibility for implementing and managing data management, CRM and reporting strategies with the marketing team and stakeholders
- Create marketing KPIs and provide monthly reporting to track progress in meeting strategic goals
- Analysis of marketing data and reporting of trends, producing insight reports and feeding back strategic information for capitalising on opportunities
- Proven experience as Head of Marketing or Marketing Director within a product and e-commerce environment, either client-side or within a marketing agency/full service agency (sector-wise - automotive, consumer electronics and full service agencies are of particular relevance)
- Demonstrable experience of building and executing a marketing strategy that positively impacts awareness and growth in both B2B and B2C environments
- A blend of experience and knowledge across both digital and traditional marketing
- A relevant degree-level qualification, supported by a professional qualification like CIM, or similar
- Entrepreneurial flair, a commercial mindset, and a drive to take on responsibility, grow a team, and solve problems
- A proven record of building and developing high performing marketing teams within growing businesses
- Have a good understanding of how to manage and utilise data
- Broad experience across online and offline marketing channels
- A hands-on and practical approach, acting strategically whilst leading and directing on execution and implementation
