Director of Customer Insights

Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time

Location: London

Salary: Circa £180,000 – £200,000 base salary + bonus and benefits

We\’re seeking a forward-thinking and inspirational Director of Customer Insights. This role is about driving change and transformation, implementing the use of innovative Customer Insights and enabling the latest technologies such as GenAI and machine learning; with the ultimate goal of having customer needs and desires firmly at the centre of the commercial strategy.

This is a highly influential and transformational role and as Director of Customer Insights you’ll lead the design and delivery of the Customer Insight strategy and programmes in support of the overall Group strategy, using insight to drive operational and creative strategies and act as the voice of the customer driving customer centricity. You’ll enjoy considerable stakeholder interaction at the highest levels, and you’ll leverage your leadership profile and make a lasting contribution to the business.

Experience and skills needed:

  • Established leader with strong customer and market insight capability.
  • Significant marketing experience in a large matrix organisation.
  • Experience enabling change in large-scale environments.
  • Advanced interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Ability to build networks and relationships with senior stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver best-in-class insights to shape decision-making at the highest levels.
  • Champion the use of emerging technologies and trends to improve diagnostics and insight capabilities.
  • Design the Customer Insight strategy and prioritize resources for delivery.
  • Lead the Customer Insight team, translating strategy into operational management activities.
  • Challenge and support Marketing to ensure strong customer-led thinking.
  • Develop GenAI user cases for effective tooling deployment.
  • Recommend and deliver a portfolio of products and services aligned with the Marketing service proposition.
  • Manage key marketing data and technology contracts.
  • Accountable for marketing requirements affecting customer data and technology.
  • Own customer and campaign performance tracking studies.
  • Deliver against the annual Customer Insight, Marketing Data & Analytics financial plan.
  • Play a key role in the Marketing leadership team and future department transformation.

You’ll also be expected to have:

  • Experience leading and developing diverse professional teams.
  • Strong business acumen for intelligent contributions to business strategy.
  • Experience utilizing emerging technologies like GenAI and machine learning.
  • Strategic thinking to translate insights into action.
  • Knowledge of communications and marketing strategies.
  • Operational, financial, and programme planning experience.
