You’ll collaborate closely with product, design, analytics and clinical colleagues to create thoughtful, scalable solutions that support the delivery of chronic care across the UK.

This is a high-impact role within a fast-growing healthtech startup, offering the opportunity to influence both what we build and how we build it. You’ll be joining a team that values technical excellence, thoughtful collaboration, and a culture of continuous improvement.

Salary: £80–95k per annum (DOE)

Benefits: Equity and up to 33 days holiday allowance, in addition to bank holidays.

Please note that a Disclosure will be requested in the event that you are successful and are offered & accept a role with Suvera.

About Suvera: Suvera is transforming healthcare with a mission to keep people in good health, wherever they are. Partnering with UK general practices, we deliver a virtual clinic that supports patients with long-term conditions. Currently, we manage over 100,000 patients. Our ambitions are global, and we’re just getting started.

What you'll be doing:

  • Build seamless, scalable systems: Design and develop reliable software across our TypeScript monorepo (SST, Node.js, Vite/React).
  • Deliver cross‑functional impact: Work closely with clinicians, designers, and product managers to build intuitive user experiences.
  • Own the full stack: From frontend interfaces to backend services, infrastructure, observability and monitoring.
  • Stay hands‑on and pragmatic: Spend the majority of your time writing code, reviewing PRs, and improving development workflow.
  • Champion engineering quality: Drive high standards in testing, observability, and performance.
  • Shape the team’s culture and growth: Support other engineers through pairing, mentoring, and feedback.

Requirements:

  • At least 4 years in product focussed engineering roles, fluent in TypeScript.
  • Experience working in a cross functional platform team.
  • Strong understanding of scalable, reliable, secure and accessible applications.
  • Excited to work in the office one day each week to collaborate with the team.

Nice to haves:

  • Comfortable partnering with analytics teams (Fivetran, Snowflake, dbt).
  • Interest in infrastructure and observability (AWS, SST, serverless).
  • Familiarity with MongoDB or healthcare data systems.

About the Tech Team: Our tech team aims to create seamless technology that improves patient experience and empowers our in‑house clinical team. Our architectural decisions are intentional, with a focus on developer experience when working full stack. Using CI/CD we automate deployment onto Serverless architecture.

Perks:

  • Equipment budget on joining.
  • £500 annual Education Budget.
  • £500 annual Wellbeing Budget.
  • Matched pension contributions (5% employer).
  • Access to free external mental health support.
  • No internal meetings before 10am or on Fridays.

How to prepare for a job interview at Suvera

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If Suvera uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
