Suvera is a digital health start‑up on a mission to keep people in good health wherever they are in the world. We partner with general practices in the UK to deliver a virtual clinic that proactively supports the management of patients with long‑term conditions. Today, we manage over 150,000 patients and have a robust pipeline to more than 5x that by the end of 2024. We have merely scratched the surface for what we can do for both clinical operations and chronic care pathways. We have a team of phenomenal advisors, including Professor Bryan Williams who is the chair of Medicine at UCL and the man behind high blood pressure guidelines for the UK. We are a small (c. 50 people) cross‑functional team from all backgrounds, and have our own internal Care Team which employs both clinicians and care advisors. We are backed by Google for Startups and the preeminent, global healthcare and technology venture capital firm Morningside Ventures, led by Dr. Gerald Chan. We have ambitions to become the largest healthcare provider in the world.

As Finance Manager (Part‑Time), you will:

  • Own our monthly management accounts, cash‑flow tracking and P&L reporting — giving leadership the clarity they need to make confident decisions.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning — building models that help define where we go next, including scenario planning and sensitivity analysis.
  • Produce clear financial narratives and dashboards that bring data to life for leadership and non‑finance teams.
  • Work closely with Operations and Growth to analyse business metrics, and assess the financial impact of decisions without compromising on our values.
  • Oversee and continuously improve our automated finance workflows — including AI‑assisted bookkeeping, invoice processing, reconciliation, and expense management — ensuring outputs are accurate, auditable, and well‑governed.
  • Liaise with external partners (banks, accountants, auditors) and own compliance and statutory admin where relevant.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Should have 3+ years of experience in a finance or accounting role, with clear ownership of core finance outputs (P&L, cash flow, forecasting, reconciliation).
  • Comfort working with automated finance processes — you understand how AI‑assisted tools and integrated workflows operate, and know how to sense‑check and govern their outputs effectively.
  • Strong spreadsheet and financial modelling skills (Excel or Google Sheets).
  • Excellent communication — able to translate numbers into clear, useful insight for non‑finance colleagues and leadership.
  • The ability to work independently and manage priorities within a part‑time schedule, knowing when to escalate and when to get on with it.
  • High attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger picture.
  • Integrity and ownership — you take responsibility for accuracy, transparency, and financial health.

Nice to haves:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) — we’ll consider strong experience in lieu of formal qualification.
  • Experience working in a startup or fast‑growth SME, building or improving processes from scratch.
  • Hands‑on experience using Xero, Moss or similar spend management tools.
  • Familiarity with AI‑powered finance tools (e.g. automated invoice capture, AI categorisation, cash‑flow forecasting) and how integrations work between finance systems — enough to work effectively with engineers or vendors when things need fixing.
  • Experience working with NHS, healthcare, or regulated service providers.

For Suvera, company culture is not an afterthought - it is a priority. Our diverse team helps us ensure we consider everyone’s experience of accessing healthcare when building our product. We prioritise inclusion, wellness, and flexibility. We have a remote‑first approach, and a non‑hierarchical culture, we enable our team to thrive. Our async communication style ensures efficient workflows, and our policies support autonomy and work‑life balance.

Perks:

  • A diverse, remote‑first collaborative environment with strong clinical leadership and a supportive team culture that values community‑building and regular socials.
  • Enhanced parental pay, equipment and education budgets, financial planning, and matched pension contributions up to 5%.
  • Support with learning and development, annual wellbeing budget through Heka, gym passes, financial advice, mental health support, private GP appointments and therapy sessions.
  • We offer 28 days of holiday, plus bank holidays to ensure you can enjoy all life has to offer whilst having a fulfilling career at Suvera. This is also a fully remote job so no need to commute.
