Suttons International are a long standing and successful global logistics provider, we have a new and exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineering Apprentice to join our fantastic team based in Widnes. This is a permanent opportunity with the chance to go through an ‘earn as you learn’ scheme, so definitely not to be missed!
As an Apprentice, you will be working towards your Level 3 Engineering Technician qualification, which will involve both on the job learning as well as attending college 1 day per week. You will be given the opportunity to participate in your own development plan, under the direction of an experienced mentor. This will include things such as welding and fabrication, repairing and maintaining ISO Tanks, basic electrical repairs, product changes and testing. Whilst in your time at college, you will also learn about regulation and safety, Computer Aided Design (CAD), Computer Numerical Control (CNC), problem solving plus the maintenance of mechanical engineering and electrical devices.
What are we looking for?
As a minimum, you will need to have 4 GCSEs including English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above. This is a hands-on, practical role, so having an interest in working with tools and machinery with a drive and ambition to learn and develop is key.

Recruitment Process
Please apply online, you will need to upload a current CV as well as answer some pre-screening questions which will then be reviewed by our Recruitment Team. If successful, you will be asked to go through a telephone interview followed by an invite to an Assessment Centre at our Widnes Office (Government restrictions pending). We will then make a final decision in conjunction with The Apprenticeship Academy. Enrolment into the Level 3 Apprenticeship will begin in September 2026. Please note that all offers of employment are subject to Right to Work and DBS checks before employment can commence.
