Sutton Sea Cadets is a youth organisation (registered charity) that aims to give young people an experience that helps them grow into the person they want to be in a safe and friendly environment.

The Marketing & Communications Trustee is pivotal to achieving our aims by working with the team to highlight our needs and prioritise the Marketing & Comms programme.

What will you be doing?

As part of the UMT, the Marketing & Communications Trustee is collectively responsible for the running of the unit at a strategic and management level.

The UMT Marketing and Communications Trustee (MCT) is appointed to oversee the unit social media presence and Public Relations (PR).

The MCT is supported by the Unit Chair and is responsible for the following principal tasks:

  • Promote the Sea Cadets brand and values at all times.
  • Raise awareness of the unit in the local community through PR activities.
  • Provide support and guidance on marketing and communication matters to relevant contacts and seek advice, guidance and support from the National Support Centre Marketing & Communications team.
  • Develop and encourage links with parents and other interested parties (e. g., local business community, Royal Naval Association, British Legion, schools and colleges, local council, local media, etc.).
  • Promote use of MSSC approved social media platforms.
