Overview
Sutton Sea Cadets, a registered charity and youth organisation, seeks a Treasurer to join our Unit Management Team (UMT) as a Trustee, supporting the running of the Unit.
Sutton Sea Cadets is a youth organisation that helps young people grow into the people they want to be in a safe, friendly environment.
Through activities and adventures they learn teamwork, respect, loyalty, self‑confidence, commitment, self‑discipline, honesty and how to be the best version of themselves.
What will you be doing?
- Maintain financial control and manage Unit accounts.
- Produce and monitor the annual budget.
- Support fundraising campaigns with financial input and advice.
- Provide financial advice to the UMT and discuss financial policy & procedures with the Unit Chair.
- Attend UMT meetings once per month plus ad‑hoc meetings and activities as required.
- Run the role primarily from home; a Laptop/PC is required.
What are we looking for?
The role is voluntary and ideal for retirees or those with spare time who are keen to contribute to the community. We seek a candidate who:
- Enjoys the sound of being a Trustee and working closely with a small group of volunteers.
- Is a team player, capable of working with the Unit Chair, Marketing & Communications, Fundraising, Facilities, Secretary and the Commanding Officer.
- Has the skills and experience needed to be a Treasurer (financial management, budgeting, etc.).
- Can play a full role, contributing to future strategy and supporting fundraising initiatives.
- Location
Hybrid – mainly home based, with UMT meetings and occasional onsite activity in Beddington Park, Wallington.
