Sutton Road Primary School has a vacancy within our large primary school for a reliable, energetic and hard-working individual to become our Caretaker to work as part of the school site team. This is an excellent opportunity for a flexible, team player who enjoys working with adults and children, is practical, takes pride in their work and can assist with maintenance and repair. We are looking for someone to work alongside and under the direction of the Site Manager and Head of School.
The role will involve undertaking day to day minor repairs, basic maintenance, cleaning and handyperson duties within the school premises.

The successful applicant will be reliable, positive, well organised, flexible, an excellent communicator and possess the ability to forge strong partnerships with staff from across the school and wider collaboration and Trust as directed. Experience of working in a primary school would be an advantage.
The person we need will:
- Be responsible alongside the Site Manager for the maintenance of the school and have high standards in ensuring a safe, clean, attractive and secure environment
- Be a key holder and responsible for locking up and site security
- Be expected to liaise effectively with staff and contractors
- Be able to supervise the external cleaning team we commission to clean the site
- Be reliable, positive, organised and flexible
- Be flexible in their approach to working hours
- Be efficient, organised and capable in order to prioritise tasks effectively
- Possess competency in English and Maths
- Be approachable and possess good interpersonal skills
