Role overview: Sutton Mencap supports people with a learning disability to lead fulfilling lives and achieve their aspirations, while also supporting families in their caring role. We're recruiting a Development Officer for a new project to establish a parent carer forum for families of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Over the course of this one-year project, you'll help parents set up the forum as an independent organisation and ensure it delivers engagement activities throughout its first year.

- Supporting parents to establish the new SEND parent carer forum as an independent organisation
- Ensuring the forum delivers engagement activities during its first year of operation
- Working with parents at every stage of the project, embedding coproduction throughout
- Helping ensure the collective voice of parents shapes the delivery of local services
