SEND Employability Tutor (BRIGHTON)

We are a private Training Provider with over 25 years’ experience of working with young people aged 16-19 in South of England supporting them to find their chosen path in education and preparing/supporting them for the world of work and adulthood.

We are currently seeking to appoint a motivated and talented Tutor to join our friendly team in our Brighton Centre. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all our students achieve the appropriate vocational qualification as part of their Study Programme.

We are looking for a tutor who can deliver City & Guilds Employability to students who have an EHCP or SEND diagnosis. The successful applicant will be delivering training to small classes, developing students’ skills for work and preparation for adulthood.

Ideally you will have a teaching qualification and the Assessor Award however the right application can be working towards these qualifications.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

Sutton and District Training is a training organisation which works closely with young people to help them find work and supports them in gaining qualifications to make employment more easily available as well as updating and developing existing skills.

Skills required:

·Experience of working with students with SEND

·Understanding of Education Health Care Plans

·Be confident to manage challenging behaviour

·Be a committed team player.

·Be involved in planning teaching and learning sessions, this will include preparing resources and setting up environment ready for sessions

·Provide reports on the progress of your student

·Accompany learners on activities outside of the classroom

·Provide regular feedback to Centre Manager and where relevant outside agencies about your students’ difficulties and progress

Hours :

9.00-17.00 Mon-Fri

Salary: £30,000 pro rata

Experience: Prior knowledge of working with young people with SEND
