Senior Care Assistant £12.80 ph, FT Permanent

Sutherlands care home with nursing, Wymondham, Norfolk

Sutherlands is a 52 bed care home and is one of two care homes owned by East Anglia Care Homes. We are now looking to recruit a Senior Care Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate can look forward to good career development including the opportunity to undertake the Enhanced Care Practitioner training.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care and support to residents
  • Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting as well as holistically providing support with engagement experiences led by our activities coordinator
  • Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals
  • Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature
  • Assist with mobility and transfers, using proper lifting techniques and equipment
  • Assist with feeding, ensuring dietary requirements are met
  • Assist with updating care plans and monitoring recording of care delivered
  • Assist with booking appointments and making arrangements for residents to attend those appointments
  • Liasing with health professionals

  • Compassionate, respectful and patient demeanour
  • Excellent communication skills, able to interact effectively with residents, their families, and healthcare professionals
  • Strong organisational skills to manage schedules, appointments, and medication administration; meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently
  • Experience of working as a senior care assistant
