Full Time Class Teacher – Key Stage 3
Salary: Main Pay Scale 1 - 6 + SEN Allowance (£32,916‑£45,342) + SEN £2,787
Sutherland House School is a non‑maintained specialist school for autistic children and young people aged 3‑19. The school prides itself on creating personalised learning opportunities with a vision of reaching potential for each individual pupil. We offer small class groups, favourable staffing levels and excellent opportunities for training and professional development. The school has an Ofsted rating of Good. The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Responsibilities
- Deliver highly person-centred education, supporting young people to develop the skills, confidence and independence they need for their next steps beyond school.
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons and activities for Key Stage 3 pupils within a specialised autism environment.
- Engage with a wide range of professionals, including therapists, to ensure all pupils reach their full potential.
- Support and lead a team, working towards person-centred planning for each individual pupil.
Qualifications
Desirable: Previous experience with supporting autistic pupils or teaching in an additional needs environment. Full training and support will be provided for successful applicants.
