Sustrans is the charity making it easier for people to walk, wheel and cycle. We connect people and places, create liveable neighbourhoods, transform the school run and deliver a happier, healthier commute. The National Cycle Network is the people’s Network. It provides healthy, sustainable travel options for millions of people every year. It connects communities and benefits economies. And it opens doors to explore our incredible towns, cities and countryside.
Less than half of the 12,000 miles of the National Cycle Network are traffic-free. But traffic-free paths are key to achieving the Network’s full potential. These are unique and valued routes, separate from traffic and rich in nature. They provide benefits to people’s health, the environment, and communities. And we know that for Network users, building more traffic-free paths is a priority. That’s why we’ve got ambitious plans to double the number of traffic-free miles on the Network.
We’re looking for inspiring and motivated individuals to help pave the way to more traffic-free paths.
