About The Role
Our co-working space is a vibrant, full service workspace and the second in our growing ecosystem. Located just a 10 minute walk from Manchester Piccadilly, it builds on the success of our London headquarters, creating a thriving hub where purpose driven startups can work, network, and access investment and support to scale their impact. Spanning multiple floors, the workspace includes a café/bar, a mix of hot desking and fixed desks, private offices, and a range of meeting rooms. It also features two versatile event spaces, hosting groups from 30 to 150 people, making it a dynamic environment.
This is a pivotal role in driving the continued growth and success of our climate tech ecosystem. Reporting into the Managing Director of Workspaces, the Workspace Lead will take ownership of the workspace, leading on delivering an outstanding end to end member experience, from initial enquiry through to onboarding and ongoing engagement. You will play a central role in building a vibrant, collaborative community, acting as the primary point of contact for members and ensuring their day to day experience is seamless, professional and welcoming. This is a hands on, evolving role within a small onsite team, where a flexible ‘all hands on deck’ approach is essential.
Key responsibilities
- Member Experience & Onboarding
- Lead the member journey from enquiry to onboarding, ensuring a seamless and professional experience;
- Act as the primary contact for member queries, feedback, and daily support;
- Build meaningful relationships with members, encouraging engagement and collaboration;
- Deliver a consistently high standard of front-of-house service and workspace presentation;
- Manage the offboarding process, ensuring smooth transitions and positive member relationships.
- Sales & Commercial Support
- Support the workspace P&L by tracking performance, driving revenue opportunities, and maintaining cost efficiency;
- Respond promptly and professionally to workspace enquiries via web, referrals, and walk-ins;
- Conduct engaging tours and meetings with prospective members;
- Support the Head of Membership Sales with lead qualification and conversion, closing smaller contracts independently;
- Maintain accurate CRM and membership system records;
- Collaborate with the wider team to achieve occupancy and retention targets.
- Community & Events
- Promote community and partner events through internal channels;
- Collaborate with Events and Café teams to deliver internal social and networking events;
- Capture and share member success stories and opportunities across the community.
- Operations & Coordination
- Ensure smooth running of the café/bar & event operations;
- Support the team with daily operational coordination;
- Assist with workspace setup, member moves, and maintenance coordination where needed;
- Maintain a professional front-of-house environment, ensuring the space is always visitor-ready;
- Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to ensure smooth delivery of services.
We need you to have experience in
- A keen interest in sustainability, and supporting sustainable enterprise.
- 2 years+ experience in a similar role.
- People/line management experience.
- A commitment to delivering exceptional customer experience.
- Core hospitality/venue operational experience.
- Hands on experience of membership and/or events sales and promotion activities, to drive revenue.
- Empathetic, calm and supportive approach – be a safe pair of hands in a busy, chaotic environment.
- Problem solving capability.
- Barista and/or café service experience is also a requirement, however we can provide training in our London workspace if needed.
You ideally have experience in
- Workspace experience – have an understanding of the needs of diverse members.
- An understanding of the financial expectations of managing a venue/hospitality location.
Benefits
- Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday. Early morning starts and evening work should be expected, as service ramps up.
- Remuneration: £32,000 - £36,000 per annum
- Based: Central Manchester
