I'm currently working on behalf of a major engineering contractor that's looking to appoint an experienced Design Manager on a contract basis to support a growing portfolio of HV infrastructure projects based out of the Yorkshire office. The business delivers multi-disciplinary engineering solutions across the UK's electricity network, specialising in the design, construction and maintenance of substations, overhead lines, underground cable systems and wider power infrastructure. They play a key role in upgrading the UK's transmission and distribution network, supporting the transition to a more resilient, low-carbon energy system.
This role will see you leading and coordinating the design delivery of 132kV substation projects, managing internal and external design teams, ensuring designs are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme requirements. You'll work closely with project delivery and construction teams to ensure designs are practical, compliant and delivered on schedule.
I'm keen to speak with Design Managers who have:
- Experience delivering substation projects up to 132kV
- A strong background managing multi-disciplinary design teams
- Experience working within transmission and distribution or utility infrastructure
- The ability to coordinate design through to construction
